Coach Rental Across Spain

Met at Barajas, then into Madrid or on to Toledo

Barajas behaves like two airports: Terminals 1, 2 and 3 on one side, Terminal 4 a fair drive away on the other. Once we know which one your flight uses, a minibus and driver from a licensed partner can be waiting in the right place, and the day starts calmly.

Which terminal, and where the driver stands

Terminal 4 has a bus terminal of its own beside module F of car park P4, reached from the halls by ramps, moving walkways and lifts. Group vehicles collect there. The road outside T4 arrivals is now kept for the airport's own buses and car-park shuttles; your driver will not be at that kerb. At Terminal 1, the place to meet is the T1 bus park.

Split flights are common with family groups. If some of you land at T4 and the rest at T1, the free inter-terminal bus joins them, every five minutes through the day, from stops on the departures levels. Send us both flight numbers and we will suggest a single meeting point.

The run into the centre

The Puerta del Sol is roughly 15 km from Terminal 1, about 25 minutes when the roads are quiet, and about 20 km from Terminal 4, nearer half an hour. The streets around Sol, Gran Vía and Ópera form a stricter low-emission area where a vehicle with more than nine seats counts as a bus: it may go in only to serve a hotel or venue there, and only with a 0, ECO or C label. If you are staying inside that area, the operator checks access for your vehicle beforehand.

The terminals in brief

  • Terminal T4 and its satellite T4S
  • Terminals T2 and T3 (one connected building; the metro station is in T2)
  • Terminal T1

Worth knowing at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport

  • Segovia (the Aqueduct) is about 105 km by road from Terminal T4, about 1 h 40 min by coach in light traffic.
  • Toledo (Plaza de Zocodover) is about 91 km by road from Terminal T4, about 1 h 25 min by coach in light traffic.
  • Long-distance bus lines to many Spanish cities, Portugal and France leave from the T4 bus terminal; some also stop at the T1 bus park.
  • A free inter-terminal bus links T1, T2 and T4 around the clock: every 5 minutes from 06:00 to 22:00 and every 20 minutes at night. Its stops are on the departures levels.
  • The Exprés Aeropuerto bus (line 203) runs 24 hours between Atocha and the airport, stopping at T1, T2 and T4 arrivals. City bus lines 200 (Avenida de América) and 101 (Canillejas) also serve the terminals.
  • Cercanías line C1 (Príncipe Pío - Atocha - Chamartín) starts at the Terminal T4 station (level -1).
  • Metro line 8 links the airport with Nuevos Ministerios: station Aeropuerto T1-T2-T3 (in Terminal 2, level 1), about 13 minutes, and station Aeropuerto T4 (level -1), about 18 minutes. A supplement applies at the airport stations on top of a zone A ticket.

Skipping Madrid for Toledo or Segovia

Some groups head straight out. From Terminal 4, Toledo's Plaza de Zocodover is about 91 km, close to 1 h 25 min, and Segovia's Aqueduct about 105 km, around 1 h 40 min. In Toledo, groups get off only at the Puente de San Martín, Safont or the Paseo de Recaredo, with escalators up into the old town; in Segovia the set-down is on the Avenida de la Vía Roma.

What travellers ask us

How many of us fit in one vehicle?

A car with driver takes up to eight passengers and must be booked ahead, as Spanish rules require. A minibus seats 9 to 16 besides the driver, but its luggage space shrinks when every seat is full, so mention suitcases, pushchairs and golf bags.

Is the metro an option instead?

Line 8 runs from the airport to Nuevos Ministerios, and the Exprés Aeropuerto bus goes to Atocha day and night. Travelling light, either works. With older relatives and a week of luggage, a door-to-door ride is gentler.

Our flight might be late. What then?

Give us the flight number when you book; the driver follows the real landing time from it. The quote spells out how extra waiting is handled, so nothing about it is left to chance.
