Seville by Minibus for Families and Friends

Seville is a walking city at heart, and a minibus is how a small group gets to the edge of it rested and together. From there the Alcázar, the Cathedral and Santa Cruz are on foot, and the driver is waiting when the afternoon heat sends everyone back.

How close the minibus can get

Ordinary traffic is kept out of a number of old-town streets, and the lanes of Santa Cruz can only be walked. No official list of tourist set-down points was found, so the operator confirms the stop nearest your hotel, the Cathedral or the Plaza de España.

Book group entry for the Real Alcázar and the Cathedral ahead of time. Both belong to the same World Heritage site as the Archivo de Indias, which makes them an easy pair for one morning.

The Cartuja zone and the spring festivals

Seville's ZBE covers one area only: La Cartuja island, the old Expo 92 site with its stadium and conference venues. Unlabelled vehicles are kept out between 07:00 and 19:00 on weekdays, with plate-reading cameras doing the checking. Rules can change, so the operator checks them before your trip.

During Holy Week and the April Fair, traffic is shut out of much of the centre and of Los Remedios. In those weeks, pick-ups move outwards and walking times grow.

Days out in the countryside

The Roman city of Itálica, at Santiponce, is about 20 minutes away and pairs well with Carmona, about 40 minutes east. El Rocío, on the edge of Doñana, takes about 1 h 20 min.

Jerez, home of sherry, is about 1 h 25 min away; Cádiz is about two hours. Córdoba, at about 2 h 10 min, works as a full day, while Granada, at nearly four hours each way, is better as an overnight.

What travellers ask us

How far is Seville airport from the old town?

About 11 km, roughly 25 minutes in light traffic. Larger vehicles wait in a tourist-coach park with 20 spaces, about 200 m from the terminal; your meeting point is agreed when you book.

Can we arrive through Jerez airport instead?

Yes. Jerez is about 92 km from the Cathedral, around 1 h 35 min, and has a tourist-coach park beside the terminal.

Is a minibus useful during the April Fair?

Yes for getting to and from the fairground area, but expect closures and longer walks. The operator plans the drop-off around the closures in force that week.
