Valencia Airport: Close to Town, Close to the Lagoon
Valencia's airport is close to its city, about 8 km to the west by Aena's reckoning. A minibus can have a small group at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento barely a quarter of an hour after leaving the kerb.
Where to look for your driver
Valencia has no group collection area on Aena's pages, so the meeting point is agreed when you book and the operator gives it to you beforehand. There is one passenger terminal, plus a regional-flights building next to it where the metro station is. Watch the arrival board, collect your bags and call the number on your booking if the driver is not where you expected.

Into the city, out to the rice fields
The Plaza del Ayuntamiento is roughly 10 km by road, about 15 minutes when traffic is light. The old town, Ciutat Vella, is closed to most traffic, so drivers set down at its edge and your group walks in.
L'Albufera lagoon is a favourite first afternoon: El Palmar, with its rice fields and boat trips, is about 8 km south of the centre. If you are joining a cruise, the terminal in the port is about 18 km from the airport, roughly half an hour. The city must have a low-emission zone by law, but its current rules for group vehicles could not be checked, so the operator confirms what applies.
The terminals in brief
- One passenger terminal, with the adjoining regional-flights building (where the metro station is, on the ground floor)
Worth knowing at Valencia Airport
- The cruise terminal in the Port of Valencia is about 18 km by road, about 30 min by coach in light traffic.
- Metrobus line 150 links the airport with the centre of Valencia via Manises, Quart de Poblet and Mislata.
- Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5 stop on the ground floor of the regional-flights building: line 5 runs to the city centre and the port, line 3 to the centre, the university area and the north of the metropolitan area. Trains run about every 15 minutes on working days and every 20 minutes at weekends.
- Aena places the airport about 8 km west of the city.
Coming for the Fallas
In 2027 the Fallas run from 1 to 19 March, with the flower offering on 17 and 18 March. Much of the centre is shut to traffic, so hotel drop-offs move to the edge of the closures. Book early and travel light.
What travellers ask us
Is the metro easier?
Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5 stop in the regional-flights building and run to the centre, about every 15 minutes on working days. With hand luggage it is quick; with suitcases and children, a minibus to the hotel is calmer.
Can we go on to Benidorm or Peñíscola?
Yes. From central Valencia, Benidorm is about 141 km, around 2 h 5 min, and Peñíscola about 145 km. Mention any stop for lunch so the driver's hours can be planned.
What vehicle suits a club of fourteen with sports bags?
A minibus seats up to 16 passengers, but full seats leave little room for kit. For fourteen with large bags, a midi-coach of 29 to 35 seats is worth asking about.
