Cordoba and the Mezquita for Small Groups
Cordoba is lovely at a small group's pace: the Mezquita-Catedral first thing, a long lunch in the Judería and a flowered patio in the late afternoon. A minibus links the station, your hotel and the countryside around the city.
Close to the Mezquita, but not too close
On the streets around the Mezquita-Catedral, general traffic and group transport are both barred, with microbuses the only exception, and parking needs express authorisation. The wider historic centre has camera- and bollard-controlled areas that need a permit from the Oficina A.CI.RE. In practice, your minibus sets down outside these areas and the operator confirms where.
No official set-down list or current low-emission rule was found for Cordoba, so the operator checks both for the vehicle booked.

Visiting the Mezquita as a group
With a guide and more than 10 people, your group needs radio headsets, rented at the Patio de San Eulogio reception. The free early hour offered from Monday to Saturday is for individual visitors only. The bell tower takes at most 22 people per half-hour slot, and a group of disabled visitors gets in free if it books first.
The evening show "El Alma de Córdoba" takes groups of up to 100: a gentle way to end an arrival day.

Patios, palaces and wine country
In May the Patios festival opens courtyards across the old town, all reached on foot. Medina Azahara, the caliphal city, is about 30 minutes west, and the castle at Almodóvar del Río about 45. Montilla, in the Montilla-Moriles wine area, is about 50 minutes south, and Écija about the same to the west.
Further afield, Carmona is about 1 h 30 min, Priego de Córdoba about 1 h 40 min, and the twin towns of Úbeda and Baeza about 2 h 10 min. Seville and Malaga are both over two hours, so they suit a transfer day with a stop on the way rather than a return trip. EU rules cap a driver's day at 9 hours of driving, so long outings are planned around a proper lunch stop.
What travellers ask us
Which airport is closest to Cordoba?
Seville's is nearest: around 130 km, so allow 1 h 50 min; Malaga is about 2 h 35 min. Many groups simply arrive by high-speed train from Madrid, Seville or Malaga.
Can we combine Cordoba with Granada?
Granada is about 2 h 40 min away. With Alhambra entry times fixed, it is better to move on to Granada and stay the night than to try a return day.
Where does the minibus collect us from the train?
At Córdoba Central station, with the bus station next door. The operator agrees the exact spot with you.
